 Assam Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students

The Directorate of Tribal Affairs (Plain), Assam, announced the opening of applications for fresh and renewal pre-matric and post-matric scholarships for the academic year 2025-26. These scholarships are for ST students from Assam.

Eligible candidates can apply through the official NSP portal at scholarship.gov.in. The application is open to students studying in govt, govt-aided, or govt-recognized institutions, higher secondary, colleges, universities including Medical, Technical Institutions having valid U-Dise, AISHE, NCVT code only.

The pre-matric scholarship is for ST students studying in classes 9th and 10th with annual income limit of Rs. 2.5 lakh. The last date to submit the Assam ST pre-matric scholarship application has been extended till 25/09/2025.

The post-matric scholarship also has an annual income limit of Rs. 2.5 lakh, with the application deadline set for 25/09/2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Assam Pre Matric & Post Matric Scholarship for ST, applicants must meet the following criteria:-

1. The applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam and must belong to the ST community.
2. Family income must not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh per annum. 

How to Apply for Assam ST Scholarship 2025?

Students who fulfills the eligibility criteria for Assam ST scholarship for pre-matric and post-matric  can submit their online applications on the NSP Portal https://scholarships.gov.in/

1. One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory for applying. Students need to register in NSP through the app “NSP OTR” available in Google play store and perform Face-authentication for Generating OTR number which has been made mandatory for applying for scholarship.
2. After registration, students must fill out the scholarship application form by providing OTR No. and Password.
3. Upload the required documents and submit it online
4. Submit the form before 25th September 2025 and track your application status online.

Documents Required

• Aadhar card and a mobile number registered with Aadhar for generating the OTR.
• Income certificate of parents or guardians issued by the concerned circle, revenue officer.
• Caste Certificate.
• Valid bank account details.
